Shopping Tracker

Privacy Policy

The short version

1. Who we are

Shopping Tracker is an Android app published by SkNewDeveloper (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app. It applies to the Shopping Tracker Android application only.

You can reach us at sknewdeveloper@gmail.com.

2. What the app stores on your device

Everything you put into Shopping Tracker is stored locally, in a database on your phone. It is not transmitted to us, because we do not operate a server for this app. That includes:

WhatExamples
Shopping lists and items List names, item names, quantities, units, prices you enter, notes, and categories
Purchase history What you ticked off, when, how much it cost, and which shop you named
Shopping trips When a shop started and finished, and what was bought during it
Home inventory Items you track at home, and anything you record as having gone to waste
Settings Theme, currency symbol, monthly budget, and whether Premium, a free trial, or an ad pass is active

We cannot see any of this. There is no sign-in, no sync, and no cloud copy held by us.

3. What we do not collect

The app does not ask for, collect, or transmit:

The app requests only two Android permissions: internet access (needed to show ads and to process purchases), and permission to post notifications (used for restock reminders, which you can decline or turn off).

Beyond Google's own services listed in the next section, we use no other third-party SDKs.

4. Third parties

Google AdMob

The free version of the app shows banner ads, and offers an optional rewarded video ad you can watch in exchange for temporary Premium access. These are served by Google AdMob.

To do that, Google may collect and process information including your device’s advertising identifier, device model and operating system, IP address, coarse location inferred from that IP address, and how you interact with the ads shown. This happens under Google’s own policies, not ours, and we receive only aggregate earnings reports — never information about an individual person.

See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Firebase Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate — how many people finish a shopping trip, whether the free trial is useful, how often the premium screen is opened. This tells us which parts of the app are worth improving.

What is recorded is anonymous and statistical: an app-instance identifier that is not your name or email, device model, operating system version, country, and the events listed above. The contents of your lists are never sent — no item names, no prices, no shop names, no purchase history. Those stay on your device, as described in section 2.

Analytics are switched off entirely in development builds, and you can reset the identifier at any time by clearing the app's data.

Firebase Crashlytics

If the app crashes, Crashlytics sends us a report so the fault can be found and fixed. A report contains the technical state at the moment of the crash: the stack trace, device model, operating system version, and a short trail of which screens were opened beforehand.

It does not contain your lists, prices, or history. Crash reports are retained by Google for a limited period and are used only to fix faults.

Google Play Billing

If you buy Premium, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. Google processes your payment and tells the app only whether the purchase is active. We never receive or store your card number, billing address, or any payment credential.

5. Advertising and your choices

You control the advertising identifier the app’s ads rely on:

Watching a rewarded ad is always your choice. The app never shows a full-screen ad you did not ask for, and never places ads on the shopping list screen you use in the shop.

6. Android backup

Shopping Tracker uses Android’s standard Auto Backup feature. If you have backup enabled on your phone, Android may copy the app’s data — including your lists and purchase history — to your own Google Drive account. That backup belongs to you, is governed by Google’s terms, and is not accessible to us.

You can turn this off in Android Settings › Google › Backup, either entirely or per app.

7. Notifications

The app can send you a reminder when something you buy regularly looks due for restocking. Working this out happens entirely on your phone, using your own history. Nothing is sent anywhere to generate these reminders. You can decline the notification permission, or turn reminders off later in your phone’s notification settings.

8. Children

Shopping Tracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, please contact us and we will help you remove it — though in practice, uninstalling the app deletes everything it holds.

9. Keeping and deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device, you control how long it is kept. To remove it:

If Android backup is enabled, remember to remove the backup from your Google account as well, otherwise a copy remains in your Drive.

A Premium purchase is recorded against your Google account by Google, not by us, so it survives uninstalling and can be restored on a new device.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the EU/UK GDPR, or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act — you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing.

Because we hold no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase on request: the data is in your hands, on your device, and the steps in section 9 remove it. For data collected by Google through advertising or purchases, please use the controls in your Google account, or contact Google directly.

11. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — for instance if we ever add accounts, sync, or analytics — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy, or about your data, can be sent to sknewdeveloper@gmail.com.
